SENIOR CLASS WILL
We, the Class of '57 of Mead High School, city of Mead, State of Nebraska, being of sound
mind and memory do hereby publish this, our last will and testament.
To the freshmen we leave our very quiet manners.
To the sophomores we leave our ability to get along with study hall teachers.
To the juniors we leave our ability to hold all class meetings in an orderly and dignified
manner.
To the teachers we leave our sympathy that they will have to carry on without us next
year.
I, Leland Melson, leave my ability to play the tuba to Glenn Nelson, and my straight A's to
anyone who needs them.
I, Garry Esser, leave my ability with girls to Ronnie Pellan, and my pole vaulting ability to
Ralph Langemeier, who needs it.
I, Duane Hageman, leave my spelling ability to Glenda Melson, and my quiet manners to Karen
Magnuson.
I, Roger Luehrs, leave my ability to go steady to Bobby Williams, and to Don Fisher my broad
jumping ability.
I, Ben Svoboda, leave my pilot's license to anyone who won't get caugllt using it in study halls,
and my football shoes to anyone who can fill them.
I, Karol Stoakes, leave my big brown eyes to Glenda Melson, and my driver's license to anyone
who can get it for me.
I, Janice McClay, leave half interest in my class ring to anyone who can tell me where it is,
and my little gossip book to someone who wants to keep his name out of the paper.
I, Carol Kittelson, leave my fainting ability to anyone who needs it in a class play, and my love
for snakes to next year' s biology class.
I, Pauline Swanson, leave my interest in the Navy Reserve to no one, and my waist line to
Lynne Eggers.
I, Betty Jo Flagle, leave my job of lettering for the paper to anyone who thinks it's easy, and
my ability to keep a man to Ginger Fisher.
I, Kenneth Emken, leave my flirting methods to Glenn Nelson, and my ability to get stories in
on time to next year's school paper staff.
I, Danny Johnson, leave my Chrysler to Bobby Williams, who needs a car, and my ability to
hold the paste tube in annual work to Mrs. Lombardo.
I, Douglas Gustafson, leave my track ability to Jack Swanson, and to Mrs. Lombardo my ability
ยท to smear paste on pictures.
I, Willard Witte, leave the key to my Mercury convertible to Ronnie Morrissey, and to Mrs.
Lombardo my ability to put the pasted pictures on the annual pages.
I, Gerald Buesing, leave my basketball ability to Mickey House, and my height to Jimmy
Ellison.
SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY
YEAR: 1967
TIME: May 23 -- a bright afternoon about 2 o'clock
SCENE: Mead High School Auditorium
ACTION: The Class of 1957 are having a class reunion. There is a general hum of voices, and
laughter is heard occasionally. Form listening to their various conversations, we find out what
each member of this class has accomplished in life.
Pauline Swanson -- owner and operator of a fleet of shrimp boats.
Janice McClay -- operator of Beamer's Used Car Lot, specializing in Mercuries.
Ben Svoboda -- owner and operator of Tiny Tot Clothing, Omaha, Nebraska.
Kenneth Emken - - president of the Committee for the Revival of Burlesque Shows.
Karol Stoakes -- appointed head of Wahoo National Guard .
Danny Johnson working for Lange meier & Langemeier John Deere Tractor Company.
Roger Luehrs -- secretary for Slenderella Salon in Omaha (the Chevy might not make it to San
Francisco.)
Garry Esser -- owner and operator of Stork Club in New York City. Main performance every
night at 8:00, starring Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield.
Douglas Gustafson - - heading expedition into Africa to find the lost Boola Boola Tribe.
Betty J o Flagle - - author of best-selling novel entitled "How to Be a High School Bride in Ten
Easy Steps.''
Leland Melson -- manufacturing do-it-yourself kits for "Medic ."
D uane Hageman -- first man to go faster than the speed of sound - - on foot.
Carol Kittelson - - traveling lecturE:r on "How I Made My Millions."
Willard Witte recently signed 1 0- year contract with MGM to play the leading role in
"Liberace Never Had It So Good ."
Gerald Buesing -- Father of the Year of 1960 .
