GRATEFULLY

    WE DEDICATE

For service "above and beyond the call of duty", the annual staff of Mead

High School dedicates this 1961 RAIDER to Roy and Mamie Anderson.

For the past 21 years Roy has given of himself to the school in more ways

than can be enumerated. Years from now when students at Mead recall their

school days, both in the grades and in high school, the person who will probably

stand out in their minds more than anyone else is Roy. All the small things that

he has done have added up until they are immeasurable--the many times he has

mopped the halls after little feet have brought mud in on their shoes; the many

           pots of coffee he made for the teachers to have a  "coffee break" after a  hard day;

the nights he stayed late putting up with the seniors who were decorating for the
awards banquet; all these things and many more are representative of Roy and

reasons why the students at Mead remember him more than anyone else during
           their school days.

But there is another important person whom we can't forget--Mrs. Roy
Anderson, or Mamie as she is known and loved by everyone. Who can ever for-

get the delicious chocolate cake that everyone loved and could never get enough
of; or the many hot rolls that required much time and work. Mamie, too, has

had her share of trials. She must always be aware of students going into the

kitchen during the late afternoon and "borrowing ' cookies or cake. She must
                                                                  1
also reason with the kitchen helpers who say, "We'll do anything, but please don't

make us wash the silverware." To Mamie we want to say a hearty "thanks" for

making our days at Mead quite a bit more enjoyable--especially about 11:30 in

the morning when we could smell the delicious aroma from the lunchroom and

knew we just had a few minutes more to wait before we could eat.
