The only time this football team was laid back was when injuries
caused many players to sit on the sidelines. TI1e number of injuries 0
this year's football team sustained looked somewhat like an Emer-
gency Room waiting list. A pulled groin here, an injured shoulder
there, and, oh, here comes a partially tom ACL
Injuries forced O:>ach Polk to switch up several positions and
even had starting halfback Brandon Kontor playing quarterback for a
couple of gan1es after Tyler Bergman suffered a groin injury.
'We were well coached," senior Clayton Zaugg said. "O:>ach
Polk did well with what he had." One of the most laid back
teachers at Mead High, Polk turned into an intense coach with
good motivational talks.
Although the tean1 was plagued with injuries, they still managed
to have fLm.
"I love the feeling of laying my shoulder right into someone's a
chest," senior Alex Carritt said. It was even fun for some people to
