Mead placed fifth, out of twenty
teams, in the district track meet
held in Fremont at Memorial
Stadium.
At the district track meet, Dave
Andersen and Terry Radenslaben
qualified to go to the state track
meet, this year held at Kearney,
Nebraska. Dave threw the shot
and Terry ran the 880 yard dash.
School records were shattered
this year in two events and tied
for a third. Dave Andersen shows Alan Johnson and Tom Johnson how he broke the
school record in the shot put.

Danny York, an eighth grader, attended the Junior Olympic track meet and took first place in the
shot and the hundred yard dash. He threw the shot 43 feet 11 inches and ran the 100 yard dash in
11.2 seconds. This gave him the chance to attend the junior olympic state track meet.
Track coach Rockey hands out letters to: Dave Andersen, Alan Johnson, Jim Wagner, Terry
Radenslaben, Tom Long, Mike Leonard, Mike Hall, and Philip Cooke.
