Football

Mead's football prospects suffered greatly
this year due to the lack of experience,
players and limited manpower. There
were only three returning lettermen, and
a total of 13 players on the entire squad.

The lone victory of the season was over
Weston, 27-12. The Raiders lost their
first homecoming game since the event

Because of the decline of interest in the
football team, it was originally decided,
by the school board, to discontinue the
football program for the coming year.
However, the school board has recon-
sidered, and Mead will field a team
next year, if there is sufficient interest
and a sizeable turnout.
