Duane's Second Birthday

DEATH IS A STATISTIC, WHICH MEANS
NOTHING UNTIL IT STRIKES A FRIEND.
LAST OCTOBER, DEATH BECAME A
REALITY RATHER THAN JUST A STATIS-
TIC FOR THE STUDENTS AT MEAD HIGH
SCHOOL.
Duane Lee Parsons was born on February
23, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska. He is sur-
vived by his mother Catherine, his sister
Neva and his brothers; Bob, Steve and Ted.
Duane attended Yutan school through Fifth
grade. Then he entered Mead in the Sixth
grade. He was an active member in FFA.
Duane passed away while attending classes
on October 7, 1977. His sudden death
showed us what it means to lose a friend .
