1980, THE BEST ll MAN FOOTBALL TEAM IN MEAD HISTORY went 9-2, Mead had 7 returning Seniors who would form
                                                                               the basis for the Mead football team.
          The Raiders started the year out right by beating Malcolm and Ft. Calhoun. Mead then suffered it's first set-back by being out-
           muscled by Bennington. Mead then went on to defeat the rest of their opponents, "see score board." Mead then found them-
  R           in the first round, Mead met the Overton Eagles at Overton, an 185 mile trip to Western Ne. Mead defeated Overton by a
                                                                   selves at the end of the season in the State Play-offs.
        Score of 19-6. The game was a very tough defensive battle. Mead than advanced to the Semi Play-offs in class C-2 to meet Grant.
  a     The game was played at Fremont Memorial Field. Mead lost the game by a score of 51-15 thus ending the Raider's season with a
                                                              record of 9-2. Mead was rated 7th in the final C-2 ranking.
