GIRLS HAVE SMALL, BUT TOUGH TEAM!

The track season started with a disappointing
number of 10 girls. Through the progress of the
season, because of injury that number fell to 7.
But with good effort, the team had a lot of suc-
cess. Robi Black led the Raiderettes with a total of
110 points accumulated in the low hurdles, long
jump, high jump, and the 400 meter relay. Close
behind was Kristin Hannan with 993;4 points ac-
cumulated in lOOm, 200m, 400m runs, and 400 and
1600 meter relays. The next 2 high point getters
                                   1
were Dawn Hannan with 43 ;4 and Anita
Luetkenhaus with 42K Robi Black set a new
school record of 16' in the long jump and tied her
1981 record of 16.4 in the lOOm hurdles. Dawn
Parkins set a new record in the 3200m run with a
   time of 13:31.4.
Mr. Ortgies, Head Coach, was pleased with the
                                                                    P Johnson. Student Mgr I. D Park1ns. J

showed up when they captured 2nd place out of
13 teams at the Decatur River Relays; and with the
seniors gone, the remaining 5 captured 3rd place at
Conestoga. With rains hampering Districts, it
drowned out any hopes for the girls to go to state!
   GOOD JOB GIRLS!
