The Mead Football Team may have been a
young rebuilding team but they came out with
some impressive stats. Duane Johnson the only
four year letter winner for the Raiders. Mead
also may have been behind in scoring but they
lead their opponents in passing. Jamey Nygren
led Mead with four interceptions and four fum-
ble recoveries. Craig Moline carried the ball
112 times for a total of 419 yards. The
highlight of the season was Mead's win over
Waterloo 14-12. One disappointment was the
"almost" touchdown at Yutan. Even though
the Raiders record was 1-8 the Raiders manag-
ed to place 3 players on the ECNC all con-
ference team; Duane Johnson, Defensive
Lineman; Jamey Nygren, Defensive Back; both
first team. Craig Moline, Defensive Linebacker,
Honorable Mention.
