A FIRST PLACE MEAD INVIT A-
TIONAL TROPHY AND A 3rd
PLACE E.C.N.C. VICTORY,
HIGHLIGHTED THE RAIDERET-
TES 9-9 SEASON. Off to a slow 1-6
start, the Raiderettes marched even
with a victory over Wahoo. The
Cedar Bluff Wildcats victory stopped
Meads regular season effort at 6
wins and 7 losses. The Raiderettes,
however out shinned the cats in the
first ro~nd of the E.C.N.C. Tourney
4-15, 15-4, 15-6. After a failing ef-
fort against Bennington, the
Raiderettes topped Yutan for a 3rd
place trophy. In the C-2 District, 1st
round, Mead sailed past Valley 15-5,
15-6. In the C-2 District action
against Bennington, what resulted in
Meads final game, was almost the
upset of the year as the Raiderettes
hit 100% serving for a 15-6 rout. In
the final two sets Meads serving fell
to a 65% average, killing the hopes
for a championship game .
Sophomore Anita Luetkenhaus was
elected all conference 1st team,
while Seniors Cynthia Ellison, Dawn
Parkins, Jeri Nelson, and Lori
Langemeier were awarded all con-
ference honorable mention.
