OVERTIME LOSS STOPS STATE
TRIP FOR
RAIDERS
Tim with the rebound
Under Coach Larry Becker the Raiders
experienced a see-saw won-loss record.
Fort Calhoun put on a man-to-man
defense that fouled up the Raiders for
the evening. The next game with Wahoo
High was much the same, as the Warriors
outmuscled the Raiders, to take a 6 point
win. Cedar Bluffs was overtaken by the
Raider camp with a 9 point win. The
Scribner game was a losing effort, howev-
er some top scoring was produced by
Scott Pickworth with 36 points and Tom
Pro Material Milliken scoring a season high of 27
points. Several losing games, however,
produced much experience for the Raid-
er Team. The highlights of the season
were the wins over Yutan, and David
City, two of the areas rated C-1 teams.
The next two wins were a battle to the
finish with Mead victorious. The playoff
game for class C-2, district 5&6 was
between Mead and Howells. The ques-
tion was which team would go to the
State Tournament in Lincoln. That fact
was not decided until the exciting over-
time match had ended. Howells was the
eventual winner, but Mead ended their
season with an exciting game, but disap-
pointing loss.
