The Mead High School band
directed by Mary Tarleton, had
a very busy and successful year.
They performed at the UNO
Band Day and in October they
played at Malcolm, where they
received a 1 and were rated 2nd
place overall. In November they
performed at Pershing, and were
four points short of receiving a
one, and in December they per-
formed in the annual Christmas
program. On April 25th they
performed at Districts and the
following groups got a one rating
Band, Jazz Band, all Soloists
and ensembles, and every in-
strumental event. Mead was the
only school to get ones in both
Band and Jazz Band. The spring
Concert was held on April 28th.
The following people received
awards: Chris Randell for best
marcher, Craig Witte for most
letter points, and Diane Gustaf-
son received the John Phillip
Sousa award.
