                                       BASKETBALL




                                                            The girls basketball team this year consisted
                                                            of only ten girls. The members were: Seniors
                                                            - Debra Nelson. Lisa Nygren. and Kris Hass.
                                                            Juniors - LeAnne Gustafson. Sophomores -
                                                            Jodie Asper. Heidi Gehrman, Amy Halbmaier

                                                            precht and Kim Williams. Coach Mr. John Pol-

                                                            Mgrs.  Brenda  Fick.  Judy  Johnson,  Marcia
                                                            Gustafson,  Aliso  Adams
                                                            The  two  main  things  that  lead  this  team
                                                            through the tough games as well as through
                                                            the season was Senior leadership and team
                                                            unity.  The  leadership  of  the  three  Seniors
                                                            helped  the  team  in  tight  situations  and
                                                            pulled the team together when they needed
                                                            it most. Team unity was probably the most
                                                            important factor of their successful season.
                                                            These girls were more than just teammates
                                                            they were friends on and off the court, this
                                                            helped  them  win  games.  Hard  work,  team
                                                            spirit,  going  out  and  having  fun,  and  the
                                                            support of the fans also helped the girls be-
                                                            come a  winning team.
                                                            Even with  the record  of  16-7 their season
                                                            was more than just a successful winning sea-
                                                            son.  ir  was  a  season  of accomplishments.
                                                            The Raiders placed 2nd in the Holiday Tour-
                                                            nament,  won the ECNC  Tournament  for  the
                                                            fourth  consecutive  year.  won the  Sub-Dis-
                                                            trict Tournament also for the fourth consecu-
                                                            tive year. were the C2-S District Tournament
                                                            runners-up, and placed 9th and  lOth in the
                                                            state. Four  of the seven losses  were  lost
                                                            to teams  that  were  rated fourth  or  higher   I GOT A SHOTI
                                                            in  the state in  class  C 1 and C2.
