The Mead High Marching Band started mar-
ching at the beginning of the school year.
Their first performance was at Malcolm
where they received the Grand Champion tro-
phy for the class-D. Their next performance
was at Pershing Auditorium, where they re-
ceived an excellent.
Throughout the whole football season the
band performed at all the home games. Dur-
ing the homecoming game the Alumni band
members performed with the band. The
Alumni members were: Duane Johnson,
Jamie Nygren, Diane Gustafson, Clay Chris-
tie, Jim Halbmaier, Kim McKay, Valerie
Schuette, Lisa Nygren, Lisa Edins, Traci Nel-
son, Dave Nygren, Cynthia Ellison, Dorothy
Malina and Christine Hutmacher.
Next for the band was the Christmas program
and then honor band. Twelve people went to
Cedar Bluffs for honor band. They were:

After honor band the band had district con-
test in Oakland - Crig. Solsists were: Amy
Hollst - Superior. Catrina Parkins and Julie
Jonas - Sax Quartet - Excellent. Cortney
Couch, Kim Williams, Terri Lamprecht, Val-
erie Williams - Brass Quintet - Excellent.

Halbmaier, Marcia Gustafson, Amy
Dieckman - Trumpet Trio - Superior. LeAnne
Gustafson, Jeff Konecky, Amy Halbmaier.
Jazz Band- Superior. Concert Band- Excel-
lent. To close out the end of the year, the band
performed at the spring concert. These who
received Superiors at contest also perform-
ed.
