Diller-Odell for the District Championship. Craig in the first round of the State Tournament.

'The Boys Basketball team had high expectations for themselves and from others.
The team was pre-season ranked #1 in C-2 by the Omaha World-Herald and #2 by
the Lincoln Journal Star. Playing the entire season with a huge target on their
backs would have been too much for some, but our team took that challenge and
started off 11-0, winning the Lourdes Tournament Championship and the Ft.
Calhoun Holiday Tournament Championship. The team knew they were going to
take on every team's best effort. The team was offered the opportunity to play
Atlantic, IA (Class B-sized school) in Council Bluffs, and Grand Island Central
Catholic in the Heartland Hoops Classic in Grand Island Both games were against
quality opponents, at a bigger venue, and helped the Knights get ready for the post-
season. The Knights were ready for the pos~n, heading into Districts at 20-3.
They played well in Districts, winning the right to compete at the State
Tournament. The team came into State as the #2 seed (0.04 points behind #!-
Hastings St. Cecilia) and played the Oakland-Craig Knights in the 1st Round at
Lincoln Southeast, winning 44-38, which put them in the State Semifinals. The
semifinal game was against the Ponca Indians, at the Devaney Center. The Knights
dropped that game, 45-50. That put them in the 3rd place game, against St. Cecilia,
at Lincoln East. The boys lost that game on a half -court buzzer-beater, 49-52. Our
team showed a lot of toughness and resiliency throughout the entire season. Varsity
1:Joys finished with a 24-5 record, and a #4 !mal ranking in both the OWH and LJS.
JV Boys rmished with a 14-3 record C-Team Boys finished with a 1-8 record
