Boys' track had a very good turnout this year with 17 participating. There have been
new records set in the 400 relay, 1600 meter relay, and the long jump was tied. The
old record of 46.91 was set in 1985 by John Van Bibber, Gus Schliffke, Ron Timm ,
and Scott Pickworth. The 1988 record of 46.3 was set by DOUG LANGEMEIER,
KEITH MILLIKEN, SHANNON PICKWORTH , and ROB PELSTER. The 1981 1600
meter relay time of 3:44.2 was set by Doug Johnson, John Konecky, Dave Nygren
and Jeff Schultz. The 1988 record breaker of 3:42.6 was set by DOUG LANGEMEIER,
KEITH MILLIKEN, JEFF KONECKY, and ALLEN MALY. The long jump was tied by
SHANNON PICKWORTH with a jump of 20'8" held by Lee Shires in 1971 . JERRY
CHARLES a Junior, has qualified for the State Track Meet in the shot put and the
discus. CHARLES best effort so far this year is 149'4" in the discus at the ECNC,
34 BOYS TRACK and a shot put of 47'6112''. Dave Anderson, in 1965, holds the record in shot of
49'1 P/4".
