RAIDER .

The Mead Raider Band welcomed the River City Rid-
ers to Mead. Leading the riders into town. the band
members were able to eat breakfast with them.
In the Fall the band kept busy playing at Football and
volleyball games and marching in the Homecoming half
time show. Traveling to Wayne. Nebraska, the band par-
ticipated in the annual Wayne State Band Day.
After the marching season. the band concentrated on
concert band performances and celebrated the holidays
by performing at the Christmas concert. During the sec-
ond semester the band Focused on contest pieces For
large groups and solos.
At District Music Contest the band received a three
rating. Three soloist. Aaron Nelson. trumpet: Jacki Dahl,
Flute: Adam Petersen. snare drum, received superior
ratings. At the junior high contest. soloists Michele
Milanuk and Jeff Schultz received a superior.
The second semester the Jazz Band also started
rehearsing then performed at the Pops Concert and the
Spring Concert.
