      This season  the  Mead Raider football
    team was  the  epitome of success.  Despite
    lack of expe1ience, Mead went 8-2  and fin-
    ished the season ranked fifth by the Omaha
    World-Herald.  This year's  team also  broke
    the school record for  the most pancake
    blocks in a season,  247,  and in a game, 49,
    against Cedar Rapids.  Shane Mapes also
    became the new pancake block leader with       Back Row  (I  tor): St.  Mang.  Lyle  Havelka, St.  Mang.  Chris Miller, Nate Johnson, Jake
                                                   Parrish ,  St.  Mang. Josh  Moline,  St.  Mang.  Max  Boldra.  Row  Four:  St.  Mang.  Nick
    63 in a season.

      In the postseason, the Raiders blasted the
    Diller Eagles  to  qualify for  the playoffs  for
    the  third year in a row.  Unfortunately,  the
    season  ended in  disappointment with  a
    defeat in the first round by Falls City Sacred
    Heart.
      Many Mead team members received post-
    season  honors.  Regan Else was  selected  to
     the  Class  D-2  All-State Football  team  as  a
    tight end. Scott Becknell, Eddie Couch, and
    Nick Thorson were All-State  Honorable
    Mentions.  Nick Thorson, Scott Becknell,
    Eddie Couch, Regan  Else,  Shane Mapes,
      ick  Raver,  and Jamie Haag were  on  the
