Senior Sneak: ChicagO-style
On May 5th at 6 a.m. the senior class set off to Chicago, Illinois, for their three day weekend they had anxiously waited for
all year. With a nine hour drive ahead in two big rental vans, students found ways to occupy their time, such as watching
DVD's, listening to music or just sleeping.
They arrived around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the senior class and four sponsors- Mr. Leimer, Mr Owens, Laurie Guyle
and Brenda Morris- stayed in a very nice Mariott hotel just outside of Chicago.
They had time to freshen up and then made there way to downtown Chicago on the El train ,which was highly used by
many of the locals. Once downtown they had the chance to see many of the sites of Chicago. First on the agenda was
Buckingham Fountains where they took class pictures. For dinner they made their way to the Navy Pier for numerous
activites. There were boat rides on Lake Michigan, shopping, putt putt golf, but most students enjoyed a ride on the huge,
lit-up ferris wheel that provided a view of the whole city of Chicago.
For the second day the class chose to spend there day at Chicago's Six Flags amusement park. For some students the
highlight of the day was meeting Bugs Bunny, or the amazing rides like the Superman, Vertical Velocity, Deja vu, and the
Raging Bull. For dinner the last night the class headed to downtown Chicago to the ESP Sports Zone. During the wait
for a table the students had time to shop on the Magnificent Mile; one shop the students took advantage of was Nike Town.
The senior class takes a class photo all
in front of the Buckingham Fountains.
