After over 20 hours of planning, organizing, and decorating,
the Mead juniors pulled it off. Prom 2006 was a success.
The dinner, like last year, was held in the high chool commons,
which was decorated to look like an elegant restaurant. It started off
with a chocolate fondue fountain served with strawberries and cheese-
cake. "I really enjoyed the dinner and getting to relax with every-
one," senior Morgan Wright said, "And I was really impressed with
the decorations."
One major change was made to prom this year though. Instead
of coming in a side door to the
gym for the grand march, the
students came off the stage
down a formal staircase, which
also served as the backdrop
for pictures. Some thought it
was a nice change, but some
did not. "I thought it was more
trouble than it was worth," jun-
ior Megan Christensen said. "I
was scared I was going to fall
down the stairs."
The main decorations this
year proved to be roses. "I
really liked the decorations;
they were very romantic," se-
nior Katie Schmidt said. "And
I liked seeing everyone
dressed up and looking their
best, as I'm sure most people
did." Another main part of the
decorations was a fountain
Prom Queen senior Elisha Konechy and prom placed in the middle of the
King Adam Rasmussen smile for the camera
during their royalty dance,. gym floor that served as the
centerpiece.
Post Prom was at the
Elkhorn bowling alley as it has been for many years. Students could
participate in all sorts of games such as bowling and ping-pong, and
win a wide variety of prizes. "I had fun messing around with the
karaoke machine at Post Prom," junior Brittany Nelson said. "I also
liked getting prizes." After Post Prom many students dined at IHOP
to end their prom night.
Senior Marh Treptow and Jun-
ior Ane Vigmostad prove to be
one of prom's cutest couples as
they share a dance during a
slow song.
