Steven is a 1990 graduate of Polk-Hordville High School. As a Wildcat, he was a four year member of the National Honor Society, All-State football
                                                          his senior year, All-State basketball his junior and senior years, and served as Polk-Hartville's Boys State representative in 1989.
                                                          Steven was a 1996 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Mechanics. As a member of the
                                                          Air Force Academy Football team, Steven received honorable mention honors as an All-WAC tight end following his senior year. Steven is a 2002
                                                          graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master’s of Science in Engineering and Management, and graduated in 2005 from
                                                          California State University in Long Beach, California with a Master’s in Business Administration. Steven was a graduate assistant for the Air Force
                                                          Academy football team in 1996. From 1992 to 1994, Steven served a two-year mission speaking Spanish for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
                                                          day Saints in Houston, Texas.

                                                          In 1997 through 2000, Steven was the project manager for a 50 million-dollar upgrade to the global communication system that transmits
                                                          satellite command and control data for the Los Angeles Air Force Base in California. In 2001 through 2002, as a graduate student at
                                                          Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts-System Design & Management Program, he conducted research for the
                                                          production system design of Lockheed-Martin F-22 fighter aircraft. And, from 2002 through 2006 he was the project manager at National
                                                          Reconnaissance Office, Washington DC, and assisted in the upgrade and budgeting for reconnaissance aircraft and satellites. From 2006 through
                                                          2010 he was an instructor and lab director in the Department of Engineering Mechanics at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. In
                                                          2007 he was an instructor of English for Iraqi officer candidates at Iraq Air Force Academy, Camp Taji and Camp Rustamayah, Iraq. Then from
                                                          2010 through 2014 he was the lead project manager of directed energy (lasers and high-powered microwaves) branch, and lead of
                                                          manufacturing development for state of the air missile demonstration program at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In 2011 he served as Liaison to
                                                          coalition headquarters for U.S contracting activities and planning for troop withdrawal and base closure in Kabul, Afghanistan. In 2014, Steven
                                                          lead the space situational awareness branch for the Air Force Space Command in Colorado. Steven became the senior engineer for Laredo
                                                          Petroleum in Dallas, Texas in 2015.

                                                          Steven is married to Jodie Ann Kerr. They have three children: Preston, Taylor and Mason.
