Gary Shoup graduated from Hordville High School in 1982.

                                                          In football, Gary was a 4-year letter winner and earned Crossroads Conference All-Conference honors his junior and senior years. As a
                                                          senior, Gary was an All-State Defensive end and punter for the Bulldogs. He played in the Sertoma 8-man All-Star football game, and was a
                                                          member of the 1981 Hordville Bulldog State Play-off football team.

                                                          In Basketball, Gary was All-Conference his junior and senior years. He was named to the Crossroads Conference All-Tournament team as a
                                                          sophomore, junior, and senior. He held the record for Crossroads Conference tournament scoring and the record for points in a single
                                                          tournament game. Gary also made the 500 point club his junior and senior year.

                                                          Gary was named All-State as junior and senior. He was a leading member of the Hordville Bulldogs State Basketball Championship teams in
                                                          1981 & 1982. Gary is a two-time selection to the Class D All-tournament team and remains in the top 50 of the State Tournament All time
                                                          scorer’s list. He played in the Goldenrod/CRC All-Star game, and the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game.

                                                          From 1983 through 1987, Gary played Basketball at Kearney State College. He started three years and was named team captain his senior
                                                          year. He played 4 straight years in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.

                                                          In track, Gary lettered 3 years. He was a State qualifier in the Long jump, Triple Jump, and Mile Relay. Gary holds the Hordville Bulldog Long
                                                          jump record.

                                                          Gary has been a long time employee of the Nebraska Department of Corrections as a supervisor of the substance abuse unit for the
                                                          Nebraska Correctional Center for Women in York, Nebraska.

                                                          Gary and his wife Deb have four children: Hannah, Sadie, Nathanael and Jarrod.
