The Raiders finished a successful track season with two new school records
and a 5th and a 9th place at the State Track meet. Bill Flagleplaced fifth at State
with a new school record of 50'6 3/ 4" in the shot put. Bill began a IBige distance B
difference at the Conference meet, in all improving his throw about 15 foot over
the season. Jerry ChBiles returned to the State meet for the second time and
placed 9th. The mile relay team was extremely successful by breaking the school
record with a time of 3:40. Tbe relay team consisted of Allen Maly, Jeff Konecky,
Casey Babb, and Chad Nadgwick. 0
Coach Jon Dahl had 15 members out for track, including: Jerry Charles, Rob
Pelster, Bill Flag/e, Jeff Konecky, Tye Simpson, Casey Babb, Jason Maly, Mike
Maly, Barry Mayfield, Brian Ed ins, Allen Maly, Chad Nadgwick, Ryan Determan,
Joel Moline, and Kent Langemeier. Student managers were Brenda Fick and y
Stephanie Fick. Fourteen members and two student managers sll received letters.
The season started out slow with a Jot of cold weather. The Raiders were very
successful in the relays and field events.
Jeff Konecky ran the 800 m run within 1.2 seconds of the school record. Rob
Pelster also placed at many of the meets. All the members did an outstanding
job this season. Coach Dahl is looking forward to next season, because he feels s
the remaining members will be well improved and even more successful.
