For students playing cooperative sports, the advantages
go beyond the playing fields and the opportunity to com-
pete. They include seeing friends from other schools and
0 making new friends. "It's fun combining with other schools

This social aspect keeps many people up-to-date on what's
going on in surrounding towns. "It's funny because you
s get to hear all the gossip about the people in the other
schools," said junior Ashley Guyle.
For others the competition seems to increase. "It's dif-
p ferent because in golf we compete at the class B level in-
stead of D-1 ,"said senior Alex Carritt.
Co-oping with other schools is still relatively new at
0 Mead and the athletes are still getting used to how things
work. The softball team was 8 out of 28 games. In wres-
r tling Andrew Burnsting won 15 matches out 24. The golf
team won all duals and won one invite out of the six in-
t vites they have participated in.
