Norm Manstedt graduated from Wahoo High School, Wahoo, NE in 1964, and a graduate from John F. Kennedy College in
Wahoo, NE in 1969, with a major in Biology, Chemistry and Physical Education. Coach Manstedt was a four-year letter winner
in baseball at JFK and in 1970 received his Nebraska Teaching Endorsement from University of Nebraska Lincoln.

Coach Manstedt began his teaching and coaching career at Clarks High School teaching 7 through 12 grade science and
physical education. His coaching assignments were High School Football, Wrestling and Track coach and Jr. High Basketball. In
1969, Coach Manstedt started the Clarks High School and Jr. High wrestling programs along with the Clarks Kids Club/ Clarks
Maulers. He has taught and coached at Clarks and High Plains School District for the past 48 years.
In 1982 Coach Manstedt along with another wrestling coach developed a wrestling tournament software program that was
used by local, regional and state tournaments throughout the Untied States. In the late 80’s Coach Manstedt used the
program to manage the NAIA National Wrestling Tournament in Jamestown, ND and the next year at Minot, ND. This was the
first time any National Tournament had been run solely on computers.
Coach Manstedt has held the office President of the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association (NSWCA) eight times
over the past 39 years. Coach Manstedt and Jon Habben from Osceola were responsible for starting the NSWCA Hall of Fame
Banquet and NSWCA All Star Dual.
Coach Manstedt was inducted into NSWCA Hall of Fame 1986 and since then five of his former Clarks wrestlers; Mike Herman,
Steve Strobel, Shane Strobel, Dave Church and his son Mitch Manstedt have become members.
Norm is currently serving as CEO of the NSWCA and manages the Hall of Fame Banquet and All Star Dual each year in June.
Coach Manstedt was the tournament director for the first Brute Adidas National Tournament and has coached several
summer freestyle teams over the years. In 2002 Norm was selected as the Nebraska Coaches Association Wrestling Coach of
The Year and was has also been a finalist for National Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2012. He is currently serving on
the Nebraska School Activities Association Wrestling Advisory Committee.
HOME Coach Manstedt has two sons: Eric and his wife Ashley have three daughters, Haedyn, Scarlett and Ava and live in Fuquay-
Varina, North Carolina. Mitchell and his wife Kate have a daughter, Quinn & a son Brooks and live in Lincoln.
