Team Roster:
The 1966 Clarks Football team, coached by Lloyd Lanik and Assisted by Ron Cyboron finished
the season an impressive 9-0 and ranked #1 team in Class D. Led by 8 seniors, the Bombers Coach: Lloyd Lanik Asst. Coach: Ronald Cyboron Student Manager: Leland Zlomke
were looking to improve on the previous year’s 6-1-2 record and a #6 state ranking. Coach

Lanik touted his squad as being a determined group. With 30 boys out and only one player

Led by an all-veteran backfield headed by All-State Quarterback Matt Shonsey, All-State
Jack Sweet Tom Bittinger Dale Wieseman
Fullback Jack Sweet, and Halfback Phil Sutko, the offense averaged 28 points a game.

The defense led by All State Middle Guard Jim Glasgow and Tackle Alex Kufeldt, posted 4 Alex Kufeldt Chuck Fleeman George Fairburn

Along with being Class D State Champs, individual post-season honors were showered on the Jim Clark Bob Douglas
Bombers. Receiving All-Conference honors were Quarterback Matt Shonsey, Fullback Jack
Sweet, Tackle Jim Glasgow. 2nd Team All-Conference honors were earned by Alex Kufeldt and
Dennis Van Pelt.
The post-season honors continued for Jim Glasgow, Jack Sweet, and Matt Shonsey as they
were named to the Class D All-State team.
