Successful Season
The Lady Raiders ended the 1995-96 season with
an 8- 11 record. Before the season had begun, they
lost a key player, Robyn Maly, who was killed in an
auto accident the weekend before practices started.
Despite the loss of Robyn, the Lady Raiders started
the season with a 4- 1 record before Christmas. The
new year proved to be much more difficult than 1995
as the Raiders lost Bekki jonas with a pulled thigh
muscle. The rest of the season had its ups and downs
with losses to Oakland-Craig and East Butler with
wins between the two losses.
After four straight losses, the Lady Raiders saw the
ECNC Tournament as a turning point. The Raiders
avenged an earlier loss to Yutan by beating them 56-
44. The team's luck turned once again in a 37-52 loss
to Tecumseh in the second round.
Next, Mead faced Malcolm, the ECNC champs; it
was a disappointing 43-70 loss. After a down to the
wire loss to Palmyra the Raiders blew past Omaha
Christian Academy 48-33. Unfortunately this was
their last win of the season as they lost to Waterloo in
Sub-Districts 36-43.
Looking forward to next season, the Lady Raiders
will have all five starters returning, Darsey Moline
Lynsey Moline, Kari Konecky, Megan Anderson and
Annette Williams, losing Sara Maly, the only Senior
on the team .

two point attempt.
